Note: While it’s true that many things are based on actual events, the characters contained within this strip are not meant to be direct analogs for actual people. They are not based off of people living, dead, or undead and any resemblance is coincidental. Nor are they based off of Ferrets.
Because that would be weird.
Don’t worry Ruth, the con can rebound from this.
A chandelier whose chains can be knocked out of their anchors by a thrown T-shirt is structurally unsafe and poorly built or maintained. The hotel is at fault for having a dangerous piece of equipment in a public area, and BorkCon could sue them for nearly killing some of their committee members.
Assuming they have the funds to hire a lawyer and win the suit. Fairly sure the hotel has better lawyers who can argue the anchors are perfectly safe when you don’t repeatedly throw T-shirts at them.
