This kind of sounds like some staffers I know who were determined to pick their staff since they felt they had the con director position in the bag. This happened to more than one staffer.
There was one person in particular I’m thinking of but I know from other cons staff that they had problems like this. I’m not naming this guy, but he was running for Con director and he was discouraging some staffers to not run for positions like VGR or Tabletop gaming head, because he was deterined this other person or persons were going to get that position.
