I can’t even begin to tell you how it is in furry conventions. Just about everyone has a Fursona with a completely different name, and then nicknames play in and out of those. Some nicknames are yours. Some are your Fursona’s.
It was years before I knew that “Bennie” was really Phil.
My assistant Director is “Jazzy” or “Foxish” or “Disco” to various people. His email says he’s “Tyler”. His real name is Tim, and I had to go double-check that just now.
Squall, Vash, ThunderGod, V-Chan, D-Chan, Bard… I’m bad with names to start with, so when nick names start getting thrown in… known some of these people for years, and still not sure what their ‘real’ name is.
