  1. Dollars to doughnuts? That’s an interesting figure of speech to use. If I heard that in a staff meeting, I would wonder when we are getting our donuts.

    1. I’ve heard the phrase before, but not really sure where it comes from.

      1. I literally say it all the time… I didn’t even think about it when I wrote it into the script, as I just have Lynn speak in a similar pattern as I do

        1. As George Carlin pointed out, the phrase dates back to the days when doughnuts cost considerably less than a dollar.

    2. I’ve used it before myself, it’s.. not the most obscure idiom, though not the most common!
