No names, but while I’m certain your Dave is a creep, I believe the real-life person. He doesn’t deserve to have his livelihood (voice work, and con appearances) taken away by (so far) unsupported allegations. “That’s all I have to say about that!”
Consider that maybe some of the victims in the situation you’re describing aren’t strangers to me, and that I believe them fully. And that the person you’re defending is someone who has been blacklisted from a con I help run for about a decade.
That real life situation won’t be discussed further on my website though. This story may take queues from the real world, but it is a work of fiction. Any further comments on the real life events you’re describing will be deleted.
Queues? It’s taking it’s haircuts and/or line waiting from reality? Odd combination. Might want a cues there, since the statement is of some importance as far as commenting expectations for us peanut gallery types.
I see what you did there. This comic started in December of 2009, this said event could have happened quite prior to when we meet Tara as she attended her first meeting.
Yeah — I started writing Troy as too much of a depressed nihilist years ago for him to work in this story.
Also, there’s a real guy named Troy Harrington who has tried to start a voice acting career. He started after I created the character, and while I don’t think they’d ever be mistaken for each other, I’ve tried not to be too mean to Troy since that happened.
Double checking, the incident Lynn is talking about hasn’t been in the comic before? The punching people has been, certainly, but I’m very bad at recalling previous plotlines.
You’re thinking of Troy Harrington. Dave Peviani hasn’t shown up before.

Yea I realized that after I read the archives I was thinking of the real-life voice actor who was the original VO for a character named after a Bird and has the only 3 form weapon on the show whose name is similar to a kinda rock but spelled differently
UnCONventional is a comic that ran from December 2009 to December 2019 about the staff of a small town anime convention and their lives. This is a complete online archive of the comic.

I see where you’re going with this.

Yes, I meant “cues” — I just was in a rush before work when I wrote that comment.

Figured something like that. It’s hard to turn the grammarian reflex off I ‘spose. Well, plus it seemed like an important post as it were.

Oh climb off the cross.
Your comment is not the only one that was deleted. It was just the only one that disagreed with me, and I left your original post intact.

Honestly, I thank you for that. I’ve made my point and you let it stay, I won’t start a flame war.

Guys, when I say I’m gonna delete stuff, I mean it. I don’t care if you agree with me or not.

Pre-comic. The first con depicted in the comic is in 2010.

Right, I got that it happened before the comic started, wasn’t sure if it had been mentioned before. I think maybe hinted towards, but perhaps not.

Kinda kicking the hornet’s next with this one, aren’t you?

It’s the only way to write a story about hornets.
