Anyways.
My goal for the last year has been to increase the "value" for Patreon patrons, with all paid tiers getting access to a copy of Super Awesome Action Heroes, and the five dollar and ten dollar tiers getting access to my novels (at different times -- the five dollar tier patrons get them on a year delay).
For a while I had been doing Patreon exclusive "vlogs," but those didn't last just because I literally ran out of things to say in them. I mean, I'm boring. The only eventful stuff in my life is the eventful stuff happening to all of us right now. Back in April, I think I came up with something fun that I've now done two months in a row.
And that's record reaction videos to episodes of The Pagan Invasion.
You see, for the April episode of BS-Free Witchcraft I did an episode on the structure of Satanic Panic propaganda, and used the first episode of 1991's The Pagan Invasion as the example to illustrate my points. For that episode I needed to, obviously, rewatch that first episode for research.
Rather than just watch it in private though, I recorded my rewatch as a commentary and reaction video and posted it as a Patreon exclusive video. And even though the podcast has moved on from the topic, folks asked me to react to episode two... so I did that last week. I fully intend to review the whole series on my Patreon now, and each one of my videos ends up being like two hours long. I don't know if I'll get a chance to do one every month, but I plan to get through the whole series.
Honestly I'm not sure why I didn't think of doing something like this before.
So yeah, we're doing fun stuff there. Oh, also, before I forget to say something -- July is the annual Q&A episode of BS-Free Witchcraft, and I need listener questions. If you have something you want me to respond to on the show, just send it in via the show's contact form by July 11th 2025.
I see where you’re going with this.
No names, but while I’m certain your Dave is a creep, I believe the real-life person. He doesn’t deserve to have his livelihood (voice work, and con appearances) taken away by (so far) unsupported allegations. “That’s all I have to say about that!”
Consider that maybe some of the victims in the situation you’re describing aren’t strangers to me, and that I believe them fully. And that the person you’re defending is someone who has been blacklisted from a con I help run for about a decade.
That real life situation won’t be discussed further on my website though. This story may take queues from the real world, but it is a work of fiction. Any further comments on the real life events you’re describing will be deleted.
Queues? It’s taking it’s haircuts and/or line waiting from reality? Odd combination. Might want a cues there, since the statement is of some importance as far as commenting expectations for us peanut gallery types.
Yes, I meant “cues” — I just was in a rush before work when I wrote that comment.
Figured something like that. It’s hard to turn the grammarian reflex off I ‘spose. Well, plus it seemed like an important post as it were.
also, Unsubstantiated?….there are literal photos and screenshots of emails and text chains
I see what you did there. This comic started in December of 2009, this said event could have happened quite prior to when we meet Tara as she attended her first meeting.
Well, I am glad it wasn’t Troy
Yeah — I started writing Troy as too much of a depressed nihilist years ago for him to work in this story.
Also, there’s a real guy named Troy Harrington who has tried to start a voice acting career. He started after I created the character, and while I don’t think they’d ever be mistaken for each other, I’ve tried not to be too mean to Troy since that happened.
Fair enough.

Oh climb off the cross.
Your comment is not the only one that was deleted. It was just the only one that disagreed with me, and I left your original post intact.
Honestly, I thank you for that. I’ve made my point and you let it stay, I won’t start a flame war.
Next up, Unagi Con announces its GOH: Dave Peviani!
Guys, when I say I’m gonna delete stuff, I mean it. I don’t care if you agree with me or not.
Double checking, the incident Lynn is talking about hasn’t been in the comic before? The punching people has been, certainly, but I’m very bad at recalling previous plotlines.
Pre-comic. The first con depicted in the comic is in 2010.
Right, I got that it happened before the comic started, wasn’t sure if it had been mentioned before. I think maybe hinted towards, but perhaps not.
Dave was in the first con arc though wasnt he? the guy the VO who was DBZ narratir called asshole in hus narrator voice
You’re thinking of Troy Harrington. Dave Peviani hasn’t shown up before.
Yea I realized that after I read the archives I was thinking of the real-life voice actor who was the original VO for a character named after a Bird and has the only 3 form weapon on the show whose name is similar to a kinda rock but spelled differently
Kinda kicking the hornet’s next with this one, aren’t you?
It’s the only way to write a story about hornets.
